Letter From Dr. Jeane Best

March 21, 2019

Dear Patients and Friends,

Spring is the time for new beginnings.  After 35 years of practicing dentistry, I have decided to transition the ownership of my dental practice and building in order to have more freedom to focus on staying healthy, spending more time with family and friends, and traveling with my husband Craig.  On March 21, 2019, Dr. Tori Saferin will assume ownership.  She has graciously asked me to stay on with a reduced schedule.

The foundation of my practice philosophy has always been based on caring, quality, trust, and that the needs of the patient come first.  I feel extremely fortunate that I have identified a dentist who not only shares this philosophy but is also committed to furthering these principles.

Dr. Tori Saferin is a West Hartford native who graduated from The Ethel Walker School.  She attended Marist College, graduating with high honors, and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine earning her DMD degree in 2012.  Dr. Saferin’s post doctorate education continued with the prestigious General Practice Residency at Hartford Hospital.  She maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Hartford Dental Society.  Her interest in continuing education is exemplified by her membership in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Saferin is one of those people who “always wanted to be a dentist.” She continually sought opportunities to be in a dental environment during summers and breaks from school.  She worked as an associate in private practice for four years and purchased the late Dr. David Weil’s practice two years ago.  Practicing dentistry in her hometown and owning her own professional building are the realization of a life-long goal.

Dr. Saferin reminds me of my own experiences in the early days in dentistry: trying out all the exciting new processes and procedures learned in school, making a difference in people’s lives, and having the thrill and satisfaction of owning your own business and professional building.  I have complete confidence in Dr. Saferin’s ability and I am sure you will feel as comfortable with her as I am.  Dr. Saferin will continue to deliver outstanding dentistry with respect and caring in our relaxing atmosphere.  She will move her existing practice and staff to 799 Farmington Avenue during the next few weeks.  Our dear Kelsey will remain and I will continue to work and be available on a reduced basis.

It has been my honor and privilege to serve you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to care for you and become a part of your lives. My work has been as much about relationships as service. I will carry the memories of your warm and lasting friendships with me forever.

Best to You,

Jeane M Best, DDS
