Dental Implants

We have successfully teamed up with a select group of oral surgeons and periodontists to perform the first step in implant placement. If your implants have been surgically placed by another practitioner, we can help finalize the restoration process. Dr. Tori Saferin, DMD is experienced in implant restorations and know how to create personalized, beautiful, and natural-looking restorations. Have you lost a permanent tooth? Dr. Tori Saferin often recommends dental implants to patients who want a beautiful and permanent solution to missing teeth. Why choose dental implants? Your smile can be lasting and aesthetically pleasing again with dental implants. Some of the reasons implants are so popular are:
  • They allow patients to eat and smile with confidence again.
  • Your teeth look and feel more natural than other replacement alternatives.
  • Patients have a greater chance of preserving the integrity of the gum tissue, jaw bone, and remaining natural teeth with dental implants.
  • Common problems associated with tooth loss like shifting teeth, TMJ disorder, and jawbone deterioration can be prevented.
  • They help patients retain a youthful appearance.
  • A permanent, non-removable solution.
  • They’re easy to clean by your normal brushing and flossing techniques.

What Can I Expect During and After Implant Placement?

  1. A small, biocompatible, titanium rod is placed by a qualified surgeon. With local anesthesia you will be completely comfortable during the procedure. We take the time set up your appointment with the specialist to facilitate a seamless, team approach to your care.
  2. The bone around the implant heals in a process called osseointegration. What makes an implant so strong is that the bone actually grows around it and holds it in place. Osseointegration means “combines with the bone” and takes time. Some patients might need to wait until the implant is completely integrated, up to several months, before replacement teeth can be attached to the implant. Other patients can have the implants and temporary replacement teeth placed all in one visit.
  3. Once the implant is fully integrated, you will return to Avenue Dental Arts where a custom fabricated abutment is anchored into the implant creating a connection between the root and the new tooth.
  4. Lastly, your gorgeous one of a kind crown is placed on the implant abutment.
